Foley Sound Art with MP Primary

On April 21st, twenty-three grade 4/5 students (and 3 adults) from Mount Pleasant primary school participated in a Sound Workshop with the UpCYCLEd Stories project. We started with a soundwalk from the school to the Vancouver Public Library (Mount Pleasant branch), listening closely to the sounds in the neighbourhood and what stories they can tell us abut this place. Once at the VPL, students became Foley Sound Artists for the day, creating and recording sound effects carefully timed to live action on screen from the UpCYCLEd Stories movie. On the walk back to school, students recorded ambient sounds in the neighbourhood. These sounds will be used in the movie soundtrack. Thanks Division 3 for such great work and fun!
